Oakshire Peanut Butter Need a Moment?

In 2018, we flipped the Eugene brewing world on its head with the release of Need a Moment?; a massive imperial stout conditioned on an insane amount of adjuncts; brewed to replicate the flavor of one of our favorite candy bars.

Now a nearly a third of the way into 2019 we decided to shake things up again with the release of Peanut Butter Need a Moment? We started with our massive 30 Plato imperial pastry stout recipe fermented to over 13% ABV. Once fermentation was complete, we moved the beer onto nearly 1lb. per gallon of roasted peanuts for almost a week. Once we got the perfect amount of nutty goodness we transferred the beer onto an absurd amount of vanilla beans, cocoa nibs, caramel and dark chocolate sauce and a perfectly complimentary coffee from our friends at Farmers Union Coffee Roasters.

The result is a decadently delicious, over-the-top sensory driven drinking experience. The beer pours thick with a creamy head more resembling chocolate mousse than beer foam. The nose explodes with notes of fresh nutty coffee, creamy caramel and bitter chocolate.

Once the beer hits the tongue, waves of ice cream shop caramel, baker’s chocolate and ground espresso beans combine with a creamy nuttiness, with a lingering finish across the palate. Each sip incorporates an ever-evolving merry-go-round of sensory exploration worthy of contemplation and reflection. We hope that you enjoy drinking PB Need a Moment? as much as we enjoyed making it.
