In November the most devastating wild fire in the state’s history ripped through Butte County California. Burning hundreds of thousands of acres of land, destroying over 14000 residences and taking an ever mounting number of human lives.

In response to the devastation at its door step, legendary brewer Sierra Nevada, put out a nationwide all call asking for breweries to join them in making a beer called Resilience Butte County Proud IPA. They asked that every dollar sold be returned to the Camp Fire Relief Fund to help start the rebuilding process. They hoped for a hundred or so brewers to take up the cause with them. What they got was more than 1400.

So tonight we release our version of Resilience IPA. Based on Sierra Nevada’s recipe with some Oakshire twists. A base of malted barley meets a mixture of caramel and acidulated malt and a touch of rolled oats. The old school combination of Oregon grown Cascade and Centennial is kicked up a notch with Lemondrop and El Dorado hops throughout. It was then fermented with Imperial Yeasts Juice strain whose heavy stone fruit esters would pair perfectly with the hop profile.

A few kegs are being sent to local retail partners who stand with us in donating 100% of the sales back to the Camp Relief Fire fund. We anticipate a combined donation of nearly $10,000 with estimates nationwide of more than $15 million.

We are proud to stand with Sierra Nevada in an effort to rebuild the devastated community in Northern California.
